Sustainable certifications.
We not only think about our clients in our work, but always about the environment as well. Thanks to the ISO Environmental Management Certification, a Climate Calc certification, and the FSC® certification, you can be sure that your projects are completed sustainably. We are proud of these sustainable certifications, as our name, De Toekomst, suggests!
ISO Environmental Management
ISO 14001 is the international standard with requirements for an environmental management system. At De Toekomst, we meet these requirements and hold an ISO Environmental Management certification. Within the company, we follow an environmental policy in which we consider the environment in everything we do.
Climate Calc Certification
ClimateCalc is a calculation method to determine the annual CO2 emissions of the printing company. With this method, we can advise our customers on the paper to use in order to reduce or even offset the CO2 footprint of the order. This certification is something we’re very proud of, as it allows us to offer CO2-neutral printing.
FSC® Certification
We also hold the FSC® certification. FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council®, an international organization dedicated to the global conservation and responsible management of forests. The certification assesses the origin of the raw materials for paper and paper products, ensuring they come from responsibly managed forests. We meet the requirements of the FSC label, contributing to the protection of global forests and a healthy living environment for both people and animals worldwide.
Ecoprinted
For the most sustainable printing, we have a special label: the Ecoprinted label. This label is specifically for eco-friendly printing made with the best ecological choices and the smallest carbon footprint.

Climate-positive printing.
A beautiful sustainable development at De Toekomst is that we are now a climate-positive company. By printing in a climate-neutral way, we are addressing climate change and, together with you, making a valuable contribution to protecting the climate. The CO2 compensation is managed through Climate Neutral Group.
We have already offset the full emissions of our own company and about 5% of our annual print volume. In addition, we are investing in a climate project in Africa to provide women there with efficient ‘cook stoves’ so they burn less wood when cooking. This helps reduce deforestation and CO2 emissions. This Gold Standard-certified project also has a social aspect, as we are not only helping the environment but also supporting the local community.
Sustainable paper.
We have a wide selection of sustainable materials ready for you. We offer CO2-neutral printing, printing on FSC® certified paper, or recycled paper.
CO2 Neutral. CO2-neutral printing means that the CO2 emitted during the printing of a product is offset by purchasing CO2 certificates. These certificates guarantee that the amount of CO2 stated on the certificate has actually been saved.
Printing on FSC® Certified Paper. The raw materials for (among other things) paper and paper products come from responsibly managed forests.
Recycled Paper. Recycled paper helps reduce CO2 emissions and lowers energy and water consumption.

Eco-friendly shipping
Once the print or printing work is ready, it’s time to carefully package the climate-neutral prints and prepare them for shipping. We also offer our customers the option to do this in an eco-friendly manner. We provide two sustainable options: PLA film and sugarcane film.
PLA Film. The most sustainable option is to ship in PLA film. This type of film is 100% biodegradable and compostable.
Sugarcane Film. This is partially biodegradable but not compostable.
