Stronger relationships through e-learning

Stichting EFT Nederland is committed to building stronger relationships and helps partners deepen and restore their connection. But how do you translate the power of Emotionally Focused Therapy into an intuitive online learning platform? Together, we built a new digital learning environment for the Hold Me Tight programme, with room for connection and recovery.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a globally and scientifically recognised method, based on the theory of relationship therapist Dr Sue Johnson. In the Netherlands, Stichting EFT plays a leading role in making this method accessible to couples. The Hold Me Tight programme helps couples recognise and break negative patterns, and deepen and restore their relationship. Through the online platform, participants can follow the programme at their own pace, wherever and whenever it suits them.

A strong foundation, restructured

De Toekomst was not only responsible for the technical development of the e-learning platform, but also contributed to restructuring the content. Together with Stichting EFT, we combined, expanded and clearly organised the existing lesson materials across several sessions. This resulted in a logical, more compact learning path that guides participants through the course.

One of the valuable parts of the platform is the lemniscate: a visualisation of the pattern that is often used within Emotionally Focused Therapy. This visualisation brings together the behaviour and emotions of both partners. De Toekomst developed the functionality of the visual design, where design and psychology reinforce one another.

E-learning with impact

The final result is a user-friendly and visually appealing learning environment. A great example of how digital tools can contribute to greater connection, even online. The platform remains in continuous development to optimise the user experience. The next updates are already lined up.
